Lionel Lazare, spokesman for the HNP made the announcement after denying that the force lacks competent technicians for the effective use of drones, Haiti Libre reported.
Haiti sent more than 40 agents to Mexico and Ecuador to receive training to work in the field with these devices.
The day before, the so-called kamikaze drones operated in downtown Port-au-Prince and parts of Delmas.
In the HNP operation, 10 drones were launched against several bandit strongholds. Grand Ravin, Village de Dieu, Fouchard and Delmas were the targets. A significant number of bandits lost their lives.
The worst damage was recorded at a Ti Lapli base and in Fouchard, where bandits on their way to the residential areas of Paco and Débussy were torn to pieces.
To date, drone strikes against criminals from the Viv Ansanm gang coalition are the only weapon capable of stopping the gangs’ advance. Some broadcasters questioned the effectiveness of the drones because gang leaders, such as Izo and Barbecue, are escaping from missed shots.
