Stubb stated that the basis for the conflict’s containment should be to militarize Ukraine to its teeth.

European Union (EU) leaders will discuss on Friday the European defense strategy presented by the European Commission (EC).

They are expected to pay particular attention to the so-called White Paper for European Defense – Readiness 2030, forwarded by the EC, which includes a long-term plan to arm Ukraine.

As noted by the EC, this defense package will provide financial leverage to EU countries to enable a sharp increase in investment in arms production and military capabilities.

Despite recent talks between the Russian Federation and the United States aimed at achieving a cessation of hostilities, several European countries are still bent on militarizing Ukraine, on grounds their respective territories face an eventual Russian invasion.
