During a tour of Addis Ababa last night, Marrero Cruz and his accompanying delegation visited the Ethiopia-Cuba Friendship Memorial Park and put floral offerings before the murals that show portraits printed on bronze plaques of the international Cuban fighters who sealed with blood in the Karamara battle 47 years ago the friendship ties between the two peoples.
Marrero Cruz arrived in Ethiopia from Congo after completing a two-day official agenda focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The head of the Cuban Government stated that honoring the history and the 50 years of brotherhood that unites us is a duty while underscoring the will to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and solidarity.
Cuban Ambassador to Addis Ababa, Meylin Suarez Alvarez; Cuban Ambassador to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernandez; Abebe Ayelew, president of the Ethiopia-Cuba Friendship Association; Ethiopian architect trained in Cuba and designer of the monument, Yibrah Mehari, among other guests, attended the tribute.
