This year marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries, and ties are at their best in history, Xin said at the Global Dialogue “China in Spring: China and the World, Shared Opportunities.”
During this period, both sides have firmly supported each other’s fundamental interests and transcendental concerns, learning from and helping each other, advancing together in their respective socialist causes and modernization, the diplomat added.
He also reiterated that “China is willing to work together with Cuba to continue implementing the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties and countries, and jointly build a China-Cuba community with a shared future.”
He commented that the governments of the two states agree on the approach, treatment, and solution to the major problems and conflicts existing in the world.
In addition to actively participating in development programs in Cuba, China has a global reach, which the ambassador also referred to.
“China firmly acts as a major empowering country, driving global economic growth through its own development,” he stated.
By 2024, he noted, our country was “the main trading partner of more than 150 countries and regions around the world, and its contribution to global economic growth remains at around 30 percent; it is a crucial source of global economic dynamism.”
“China advocates inclusive and beneficial economic globalization, firmly adhering to an opening-up strategy based on mutual benefit and win-win results,” he stated.
Sponsored by the Latin American division of CMG (China Media Group, known as Voice of China), the Chinese embassy here, and the Center for International Policy Research, the event focused on bilateral cooperation and the impact of artificial intelligence.
It focused its analysis on the agreements reached at the latest meeting of the National People’s Congress, the highest legislative body, and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the nation’s highest political advisory body, held in Beijing.
Held at the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski in Havana, it was attended by Fernando González, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), researchers, local government and party officials, and representatives of various organizations, among other guests.
