Valdes noted that the consultations were considered a milestone in bilateral relations, and a fruitful exchange was achieved on consular and migratory cooperation and both countries’ experiences in the attention to their nationals abroad.
Issues of common interest focused on improving collaboration and strengthening bilateral relations between both countries, which are about to celebrate 33 years of diplomatic relations, were addressed during the consultations.
Ana Teresita Gonzalez, Director General of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cuban Residents abroad at Cuba’s Foreign Ministry, and Emil Safarov, Director of the Consular Department at Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, chaired the consultations.
Diplomatic officials from both foreign ministries, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Cuba, Ruslan Rzayev, and Cuban Ambassador Valdes, took part in the talks.
