“Israel murders, the Yankees sponsor” and “the children of Gaza are not a threat”, were some of the slogans chanted last night by the demonstrators, who condemned the complicity of the world powers with the Tel Aviv regime.
The protest was called after Israel broke the truce in force since January 19 and bombed Gaza, resulting in some 413 dead and 500 wounded.
The Chilean president, Gabriel Boric, condemned in harsh terms the new massacre in the occupied territories.
“The Israeli government reaffirms its criminal vocation and destruction of the Palestinian people by unilaterally violating the ceasefire and murdering children and women in Gaza,” the president said in his X account.
“Jackals that the jackal would reject,” Boric wrote, referring to a phrase by Pablo Neruda included in the poem “General Franco in hell”, about Spanish dictator Francisco Franco.
A Foreign Ministry statement also condemned the brutal aggression, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the ceasefire and the most elementary norms of international humanitarian law.
