Japan demands respect for ceasefire in Gaza Strip

Tokyo, Mar 19 (Prensa Latina) The Japanese government today demanded that the ceasefire agreement be respected in the Gaza Strip, where more than 400 Palestinians were killed in the last hours due to new Israeli bombings.

The spokesman of the Japanese Executive, Yoshimasa Hayashi, expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in this devastated area and defended peace as a primary need.

During a press conference, he also mentioned that Japan is making a diplomatic effort to move humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and, in that sense, considers the opening of the gates to the coastal enclave extremely important.

In the last 24 hours, several countries have condemned, in harsh terms, the resumption of Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip, the victims of which include numerous women and minors.
