During a meeting held in this capital, Pellicer reiterated Havana’s condemnation of “the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian population in Gaza and the West Bank”, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of the Caribbean nation.
He also denounced the violation of the cease-fire agreement by Israel, after yesterday’s resumption of bombings against the coastal enclave, which caused more than 400 dead and 600 wounded, most of them women and children.
The diplomat reaffirmed Cuba’s unconditional support for the Palestinian cause, which includes the creation of a sovereign and independent state on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
“The cause of the Palestinian people is also the cause of Cuba,” the official, who noted that both President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez were giving special attention to bilateral relations, he reaffirmed.
