Experts on the subject speculated that the alleged computer criminal, also known by the alias of “Wazawaka”, was the leader of that operation against the state entity of the Central American country, the newspaper Diario Extra added, based on local police sources.
That cyber-attack infected some 800 servers and damaged more than 9,000 CCSS computers, according to the aforementioned sources.
The hacking operation allegedly led by Pavlovich also had an impact on the national health services, causing an estimated cost of millions of dollars invested in contingency plans.
Pavlovich was also one of the most wanted hackers by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2023.
According to Diario Extra, the Washington authorities even offered a reward of US$10 million for information to arrest the notorious computer criminal.
