Palestine demands a two-state solution to end conflict

Ramallah, Mar 15 (Prensa Latina) The Palestinian presidential spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeina, insisted today that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace, stability and security in the Middle East.

To advance on that path, it is necessary to adopt the resolutions on the issue of the UN Security Council and the Arab Peace Initiative, the official said in a statement.

Rudeina advocated the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He stressed that the current priority is to consolidate the ceasefire reached in the Gaza Strip and to resume the flow of humanitarian aid to that territory, which was cut off 15 days ago by Israel.

He also called for the control of Gaza under the Palestinian National Authority, the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza and the implementation of a reconstruction plan without displacing the enclave’s population, as proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

He also called on Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to stop its unilateral actions, considering them a violation of international law.

The spokesman supported the holding of an international peace conference next June in New York, believing that ‘it will lead to security and stability for all in the region’.
