“This whole story shows that temporary ceasefires have been repeatedly announced since 2014. I am talking about the Minsk Accords, the deal that was discarded in 2014, and the Istanbul agreements. All of those included a ceasefire,” Lavrov told RT.

The senior official noted that Russia needs a stable and permanent peace based on the fact that the root causes of the current situation in Ukraine are eliminated.

If now the Europeans want to make the Ukrainians fool US citizens a little, I believe that the administration of US President Donald Trump understands everything perfectly and will solve everything, the Russian foreign official added.

The US and Ukrainian delegations held talks in Jeddah, a city in Saudi Arabia, on March 11.
