Gladys Collazo, director of Cultural Heritage at the OHCH and head of the said college, arrived in Rome on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by Aitana Cabrera, senior specialist of that education center. They were welcomed by Cuban Ambassador to Italy, Mirta Granda.

Collazo and Cabrera will carry out activities within the twinning scheme of collaboration and academic management between institutions from the European Union (EU) and that Cuban education facility, as part of the Transcultural program of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Gabriela Gamez, third secretary at the Cuban Embassy, stated that the two officials’ agenda includes visits to Rome, Florence, and Turin, where they will meet with directors and experts from several Italian institutions, including the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).

The source noted that the visitors expect to meet with specialists from the Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences, the National Research Council, the Central Institute for Archeology, the Italian-Latin American Institute (IILA), and the Management Plan of the Historical Center of Florence, among other institutions.
