Wang stressed the need to resolve disputes through political and diplomatic means while rejecting the use of force or illegal sanctions.
“The parties should adopt a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security vision, creating conditions for resuming dialogue and avoiding actions that escalate tensions,” he affirmed.
The Chinese foreign minister underscored the importance of balancing rights and responsibilities and integrating the goals of nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Iran should maintain its commitment not to developing nuclear weapons and the parties should fully respect its right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes as a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), he added.
The final statement of that meeting underscored the need to end all illegal unilateral sanctions and promote diplomatic solutions to address the issue.
China, Iran, and Russia noted that political-diplomatic contact based on mutual respect is the only effective and viable option for resolving tensions.
