In a bulletin issued this morning by the Holy See press office, it is indicated that the Supreme Pontiff spent a quiet night during which, according to a medical report, he was put on non-invasive mechanical ventilation, as part of the treatment he is receiving.
In a note released last Wednesday night, the Vatican news media pointed out that the Holy Father’s health continues to improve, confirmed by the recent completion of new medical examinations, including a chest X-ray.
As part of his treatment, Francis continues to receive high-flow oxygen therapy during the day, with respiratory physiotherapy.
The Pontiff, 88 years old, carried out an intense work during the last twelve months, starting on March 13, 2024, during which he recited 45 Angelus and Regina Caeli, presided over 32 general audiences, held almost 230 meetings inside and outside the Vatican, in addition to celebrating more than 30 Masses, the source adds.
He is now expected to make a speedy recovery at the beginning of his thirteenth year as the highest representative of the Catholic Church, to join the extensive plan of activities planned for the Jubilee year, whose development he followed closely from his hospital room, with messages sent to the events of the last few days.
