Government will deliver modern equipment to Nicaraguan hospitals

Managua, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) The Government of Nicaragua through the Ministry of Health (Minsa) will deliver today modern medical equipment to several hospitals in the country, in order to strengthen the fight against cancer in women.

The equipment consists of 10 cryotherapy units and two tissue processors, which will be delivered to hospitals in Bilwi, Siuna, Bluefields, Somoto, Ocotal, Jinotega, Matagalpa, Estelí, Boaco, San Carlos, Rivas and Managua, according to the Minsa.

With an investment of 4.7 million córdobas (more than 109,229 US dollars), the new equipment will make it possible to treat lesions in the cervix and carry out more precise studies for the early detection of cancer in Nicaraguan women.

In this way, the Sandinista government promotes the development of the national health sector and restores the rights of thousands of people who receive free medical care.

Last weekend, more than 10 thousand women from the department of Matagalpa (center) were attended by different specialists as part of the mega health fairs carried out by the health ministry of Nicaragua.

It was reported that during that day several medical services were provided, such as pelvic ultrasounds, mammograms, gynecological care, as well as assessments to pregnant women, among others.
