Spokesmen of this organization, such as the leader of the construction industry workers, Saúl Méndez; and Marco Andrade, general secretary of the National Confederation of Independent Trade Union Unity, warn about the intention of this initiative promoted by the Government to take over the funds and privatize the agency with a system of individual accounts, contrary to the solidarity system proposed by the popular movement.
They also denounce the maneuvers in which they are pressuring the deputies to raise the retirement age and to offer pensions of misery and hunger.
The deliberations are resumed this Monday after verbal confrontations between representatives of the benches.
The tension arose as a result of the presentation of last minute modifications on Thursday night, when deputies José Pérez Barboni, of the Movimiento Otro Camino (MOCA) and Raphael Buchanan, of the Partido Revolucionario Democrático (PRD) questioned proposals on the increase of the retirement age.
