The news agency’s report specifies that the figures were obtained from the Statistical Office of the European Union (EUROSTAT), which considered the Russian gas supply to Türkiye as the third largest in history.
In 2024, Russia’s pipeline gas deliveries to Türkiye amounted to 2.6 percent to just over 21 billion cubic meters. Combined deliveries with liquefied natural gas (LNG) exceeded 21.5 billion cubic meters.
The Russian energy consortium Gazprom informed earlier that February saw a record for monthly gas consumption in Türkiye, exceeding more than eight billion cubic meters.
The company also considered data from the Turkish Energy Stock Exchange, EPIAS, which proved that gas consumption in that nation exceeded 30 billion cubic meters between November and February.
