Uruguayan organizations support Palestine, condemn Israel’s policy

Montevideo, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) Solidarity with Palestine and rejection of Israeli aggression are claims today by Uruguayan social organizations, which demand a firmer stance from the national government.

This was expressed in a march and rally in front of the esplanade of the Montevideo City Hall, called by the Palestinian Uruguay Coordination.

Social movements, trade unions and political parties joined the demonstration, in which they demanded the breaking of relations with Tel Aviv as long as the genocide against the Palestinians persists.

This was stated in a proclamation disseminated at the demonstration and accompanied in the social networks “We resist, because we are olive tree and root, because the wind whispers Palestine and there is no exile that erases the return,” wrote the trade union central PIT-CNT in its account in X.

“Enough of colonialism, genocide and apartheid!,” demanded in its social network the Coordinator for Palestine.

Christian Mirza, former substitute deputy for the Popular Participation Movement of the Broad Front, told the press that he expects the elected government of Yamandu Orsi to ‘turn around and return to foreign policy towards Palestine and commit itself not to be neutral’.

“In this case it means support for the Palestinian people in all its terms,” he emphasized.
