Arslan resorted to his X account to advocate an Arabic-nationalist stance and voice his opposition to sow fear among the Druze in southern Syria in regards to their integration under the new administration.
In his words, the Druze have reaffirmed their Arab and Islamic identity through history.
Arslan also recalled the honorable legacy of the Druze community leaders in Lebanon and Syria.
For the Lebanese politician, the Druze oppose the internal divisions that others are abetting within Syria, adding that upon the new authorities in Damascus falls the responsibility of dealing with the issue in all honesty and transparency.
He insisted on respecting the particularities of each group, be it the ones on the Alawite coast, the Kurds, the Christians, the Shiites, the Druze or even the Sunnis.
At this point, Arslan urged the Syrian state to provide a genuine opportunity for all the people, by sheltering them under the Constitution and the laws, so that no fear arises.
Arslan called on the new authorities to declare Syria an Arab Republic, free from all non-Syrian forces present in its territory, starting with Israel.
The partisan chief’s statements followed a new Israeli military raid into Syrian territory, which reached the administrative borders between Quneitra and Daraa provinces in the south.
The Israeli attack came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the army will maintain its positions in Syria as a defensive measure, the pan-Arab network Al Mayadeen reported.
