Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez, Permanent Representative to the UN in this Swiss city, held a meeting today with Bogdan, who also praised the active and constructive participation of the Caribbean country member of the ITU Council, governing body of the organization.
The Summit, organized jointly by the ITU and the Ministry of Communications of Cuba, will have as its theme: “Amplifying the voices of young people in information and communications technologies, for a more inclusive and connected future,” according to a note released by the Cuban mission here.
According to its organizers, it will be an important platform for young people from all over the world to share ideas and perspectives on digital transformation and information and communications technologies.
Very relevant issues will be discussed, such as the digital empowerment of young people, cybersecurity, innovations in business models, the role of artificial intelligence, among others.
During the meeting, both parties also exchanged views on the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence, which will take place here from July 8 to 11, one of the most important events that the ITU will organize this year.
Benítez Verson also informed the Secretary General of the ITU about the multiple effects in the telecommunications sphere that arise from the blockade imposed by the United States and the inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral List of States that supposedly co-sponsor terrorism, the note concludes.
