Venezuelan President received religious authority of Lebanon

Caracas, Feb 26 (Prensa Latina) The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received here the Great Muslim Religious Authority of Lebanon, Ali Muhammad Al Ghazzawi, which ratified the brotherhood and fraternity between both peoples, it was reported.

After 10:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, the President welcomed the delegation at the Miraflores Palace, seat of the Government, in the company of the first combatant and deputy Cilia Flores and the Vice President for Religious Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Guerra.

The Lebanese ambassador in Caracas, Elías Lebbos; the director of the League of the Islamic World in Venezuela, Khalil Abdul Hadi; and the auxiliary religious guide of the Sheikh Ibrahim Al Ibrahim Mosque in Caracas, Sheikh Omar Khaddoura, also participated.

Also in attendance were the director of the Bekaa Religious Affairs, Sheikh Assem Al Jarrah, and the president of the Office of the Emigrants in Dar Al Fatwa, Abdul Nasser Al Khatib, according to the Presidency.

According to the source, the meeting served to “corroborate the intention of both nations to address issues of interest in their diplomatic relations”.
