Sierra Leone’s Minister of Sports, Augusta James-Teima, and the president of the Cuban Sports and Recreation Institute (INDER), Osvaldo Vento, inked the document, according to the weekly Jit in its digital edition.
The text, penned during the 2nd International Sports Fair of Cuba, promotes the exchange of knowledge, advice, the organization of training bases and participation in competitive events, among other aspects.
“I am taking good things with me to my country. You are an example to imitate in sports,” said James-Teima, who expressed his gratitude and admiration for the Cuban people and sports.
Advisor to the Minister Momodu Alpha highlighted Cuba’s relevance in the sports field worldwide and shared his experiences and knowledge acquired at the former International School of Physical Education and Sports in the Caribbean nation, where he studied.
In addition, he reiterated Sierra Leone’s interest in having the help of Cuban specialists in various areas for its sports development.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by INDER’s director of training and improvement, Yohselyn Ramiro Ruiz.
