According to statements made by the Bolivian ambassador in this capital, Gabriel Campero, in the course of this year there are several work projections between both countries, which respond to the objective of deepening the existing exchange.
“In the multilateral sphere, we want to consolidate support for the Indigenous Peoples Mechanism within the framework of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) and also comply with what was agreed during the Binational Commission held at the level of vice-chancellors last October in La Paz, after 23 years”, he pointed out.
Another of the points that will be followed up, he said, are the mechanisms to improve bilateral trade and address the issue related to the coca leaf.
This last issue, he added, is associated with the critical review being promoted by both countries in order to eliminate the stigmatization of the crop and its producers, and to show, through scientific studies, that the coca leaf is not a drug and to be able to remove it from schedule one of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.
