On the final day of the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology (IT) said that to continue the momentum in the field, the government has started a training program for 85,000 engineers. He also highlighted the recently inaugurated center, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to manufacture IT hardware and electronic products.
The minister said the plant will produce servers, desktop computers, motherboards, chassis, RAM, SSDs, drones, and robots, among other components.
Over the next six years, the center will receive an investment of about Rs 1.5 billion (more than 17 million dollars), generating employment for nearly 1,200 professionals to produce desktops, all-in-one workstations, laptops, tablets, and monitors.
The government has focused extensively on future-proof infrastructure and capacity building, Vaishnaw said, noting that to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047, the authorities are prioritizing four key areas in the sectors of infrastructure investment, inclusive growth, expansion of manufacturing and simplification of laws.
Over the past decade, the electronics manufacturing sector has seen unprecedented growth, the Ministry of Electronics and IT said.
India currently exports electronics goods, worth over 52 million dollars, including mobile phones, laptops, servers, telecom, medical and defense equipment.
