The official is an indigenous Uitoto Minika, from the Amazonian territory of Nofiuco, in the south of the country.
She is a political scientist from the National University, with a master’s degree and doctorate in sustainability from the University of Catalonia and served as director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Estrada’s appointment is known one day after the President accepted the resignation of the Minister of Mines and Energy Andres Camacho, who would be replaced by Edwin Palma.
The latter is a lawyer from the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia in Barrancabermeja, a specialist in labor law from the Universidad Libre de Colombia, and in constitutional law, and holds a master’s degree in labor law from the Universidad del Externado.

Armando Benedetti was appointed as head of the Ministry of the Interior, General Pedro Sánchez was ratified as head of the Ministry of Defense, while Patricia Duque will be the new Minister of Sports.
