LFI Lawmaker Rima Hassan, Member of the European Parliament, and an official EU delegation were turned away upon arrival at Tel Aviv airport by an order of Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli, the several times presidential candidate wrote in X.

The political leader quoted statements by Chikli in which he admitted the refusal of entry to the “anti-Semitic MEP Rima Hassan, from Mélenchon’s party, who defends Hamas and promises boycott and sanctions against Israel under false allegations.”

That minister of Benjamin Netanyahu recently received “the pseudo patriot Jordan Bardella”, also a French MEP, he warned in allusion to a recent meeting in Washington between Chikli and the president of the French far-right National Rally party.

Mélenchon called on the French government, Bardella and the diaspora to protest in solidarity with the French representatives when they are mistreated.

For her part, Hassan denounced a campaign on social media to manipulate what happened at the Tel Aviv airport, since the rejection was not to her alone.
