Speaking at the opening of the Asean Future Forum (AFF) 2025, he called for promoting solidarity, resilience, identity, flexible adaptation and mobilization of all resources to connect Asean with the world.
The Head of Government conveyed the Vietnamese leaders’ greetings to the participants, stressing that this is a very significant event as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of Hanoi’s joining the regional bloc.
According to Minh Chinh, the current fluctuations in the world and the Asia-Pacific region pose many challenges, but also open up exceptional opportunities for Asean to reaffirm its position and make progress.
As it enters a new stage of development, the bloc is expected to become the world’s third largest economy, with a Gross Domestic Product exceeding US$10 trillion and a consumer market of more than 800 million people.
It will also serve as a hub for technology, digital economy and innovation, with a digital economy that could reach US$1 trillion by 2030, the Vietnamese Prime Minister predicted.
For that forecast to become reality, Asean needs not only unity and consensus, but also innovative thinking, precise strategies, feasible roadmaps, concentrated resources and drastic actions, Minh Chinh patented.
On that basis, the head of government proposed prioritizing the consolidation of the regional community’s strategic self-determination by enhancing solidarity and the grouping’s central role.
