The former president wrote on his Telegram channel that Russia launched the special military operation on February 24, 2022, when “the point of no return in the confrontation with the so-called collective West was surpassed.”
“And the only way to protect our homeland and its citizens remained, to expel the enemy from our borders. Time showed that this difficult decision was the only correct and possible one,” Medvedev added.
In his opinion, the fight against “neo-Nazism and its followers is not over yet. But its outcome is already very close.” Russia will not allow “the global apocalypse” and will make the revenge of Nazism impossible, he continued.
“The main thing is to save the infinite homeland and do everything possible for its prosperity,” Medvedev summed up.
On February 24, 2022, Russia began what it called a special military operation in Ukraine, the objectives of which, according to President Vladimir Putin, are to protect the population from “genocide by Kiev” and to tackle the national security risks posed by the advance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the east.
