The MINREX added that it intends to strengthen bilateral relations with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

Guyanan Ambassador to Cuba Halim Majeed recently held talks with government authorities in the Cuban province of Villa Clara to expand ties between the two nations. Cuba and Guyana established diplomatic relations on December 8, 1972.

Since then, there have been exchanges based on mutual respect, support in the fight against the US blockade, and ties in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, biotechnology, and construction.
