Under the slogan “World Marathon of love for Cuba,” Salvadorans will meet on March 2 at 10:30 hours, local time, in Plaza Morazán, in the historic center of the capital, to join the international call for solidarity against the US blockade.
“Cuba is not alone” is one of the slogans of the call “to walk” alongside the international action of “Love for Cuba.”
These actions coincide with the worsening of the aggressive policies by President Donald Trump’s Government against Cuba and its fear of holding talks with the Caribbean island on equal terms.
On the contrary, and for example, in recent days in statements to CBS, Republican Senator Rick Scott, from Florida, along with other colleagues, advocated tightening the blockade against the Cuban people.
This group urged other congress people to suspend flights between Cuba and the United States, which would be a new blow to Cuban families and Cuban emigration itself, after the recent measures, already in force, to cancel remittances to the island nation.
Against the suspension of remittances and the more than 200 coercive measures approved and enforced against Cuba in recent years, Salvadorans will demonstrate on March 2, according to the organizers of the marathon.
