Lebanon ready to pay tribute to Hezbollah leaders

Beyrouth, Feb 22 (Prensa Latina) Amid mourning and sadness, Lebanon completed all the logistical and technical preparations today for the funeral ceremony in honor of the leaders of the Resistance, Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine.

A few hours before the farewell of the martyrs of Hezbollah, the equipment was installed in the Camille Chamoun Sports City and the surrounding areas, including giant screens along the route to the old airport road.

According to press reports, crowds of people began to arrive in the capital from various regions of Lebanon, and the main roads to Beirut from Saida and Bekaa, registered intense traffic.

The pan-Arab news platform Al Mayadeen reported that the Lebanese and several delegations gathered in front of the shrine of the nation’s martyr, Hassan Nasrallah, and chanted slogans in support of the Resistance and Palestine.

Around 70 countries confirmed their official attendance at the solemn event, through diplomatic delegations, parliamentarians, ministers, political and religious figures, the news network reported.

According to the information, thousands of citizens from Arab and Islamic countries such as Iraq, Yemen, Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait and Turkey will participate in the funeral in honor of Nasrallah and Safieddine.

Al-Manar television added that the Sports City will house more than 23 thousand seats inside and another 55 thousand in its stands; meanwhile, more than four thousand army and security forces personnel will be deployed along the funeral route.

The national media outlet noted that the ceremony received unprecedented global media attention with more than 450 media outlets from around the world arriving in Lebanon, including press teams from Asia, Africa, America and Europe. The organizers equipped four field hospitals and several medical points, distributed between the Sports City, the funeral road, the burial site and the old airport road, to provide assistance in case of any emergency.

During a press conference today, Deputy Head of the Hezbollah Executive Council Ali Damoush assured that tomorrow will be a day of renewal of commitment and loyalty to the martyrs, and of the continuity of the path of Resistance in the face of enemy plans to weaken it.

In Damoush’s assessment, Lebanon that sacrificed the prominent leaders as martyrs will always be a country of national unity and civil peace, and will never become a territory occupied by the Zionists or be divided under any circumstances.

Under the motto “Faithful to the Commitment”, the people will say goodbye this Sunday to the martyrs of Hezbollah, killed during the Israeli aggression, who are symbols of the Resistance of Lebanon, Palestine and the entire Arab region.
