At the closing of the First Workshop on Political-Ideological Work of Cuban Universities, at the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) University Ñico López, the president stressed that unity is the greatest challenge to advance in the country’s new economic and social model, national television reported.
In this sense, he urged the application of science and innovation in political-ideological work as a contribution to the development of the national economy, and noted that it should be a practice seen from critical thinking with values of revolutionary convictions.
Accompanying the first secretary of the PCC were its Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales; the head of the Department of Attention to the Social Sector, Susely Morfa, and Eduardo Martínez, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic.
Also participating were provincial party leaders, ministers and representatives of other organizations such as the University Student Federation, the Union of Young Communists, and PCC executives, as well as rectors of Cuban higher education institutions.
