Wa Sekake and Novak met in the context of the 33rd International Book Fair of Havana, in which representatives of more than 40 nations are participating and South Africa is the guest of honor.
The meeting was part of the Literary Forum of the UNEAC that concluded on Friday, and Molaodi wa Sekake, president of the National Association of South African Writers, expressed interest in materializing future exchanges between authors from his country and Cuba, according to the institution.
“We have a common political agenda and we want to discuss with Cubans the ways of exchange that we can have,” the director and activist noted.
“On behalf of the Association of South African Writers, we tell Cuban writers and the people in general that they must continue with the same resilience. “Cuba continues to be a hope for the world,” he said.
Novak accompanied the visitor on a tour of the institution’s headquarters and shared with Molaodi wa Sekake the particularities of UNEAC and its contribution in the artistic and literary, social and community fields.
The Literary Forum coordinated by the UNEAC Writers Association as part of the Book Fair in Havana took from February 17 to 21 in the Villena room of the organization’s national headquarters, with an intense program that focused on bringing authors closer to their audiences.
