Kalil explained that “the injuries are gone”, and that the ruler “underwent many examinations as part of an annual check-up, which he did not undergo before because of the domestic accident he suffered in December. All have shown that the president’s state of health is excellent,” he said, and assured that Lula da Silva is free to travel within Brazil and abroad.
At the end of the afternoon of December 9th, Lula felt a headache and felt unwell, after which he was admitted to an exclusive health centre in Brasilia, due to the blow received on his head, in October, after falling in one of the bathrooms of the Alvorada Palace which caused a wound on the back of his neck.
After imaging tests, it was determined that the president needed to undergo surgery, after which he was transferred to the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in Sao Paulo, where he underwent emergency surgery, which went off without complications. Da Silva underwent two medical interventions on December 10th and 12th, in addition to a third procedure to remove a drain from his head.
Lula da Silva was discharged last night after undergoing routine tests at the hospital.
