The program of the two-day event began with a tribute to the National Hero Cuba, the poet and revolutionary José Martí, at the bust erected in his memory at the Regional University Center of Azuero.
A peculiar moment of the first day is also the cultural program dedicated to the population of the community of El Espinal, Guararé district (Los Santos province), with the participation of its representative, Nilka Morcillo.
According to Professor Adela Panezo, head of the chapter of solidarity in the Azuero Peninsula and head of the organizing committee of the event, the meeting in the Damasco retreat house, in the city of Chitre, will be attended by delegates from solidarity movements in other territories such as Cocle, Colon, Chiriqui, Panama, Veraguas, West Panama, Darien and the Ngäbe Bugle and Guna Yala regions.
Likewise, these groups will be accompanied by representatives of trade union, university, indigenous, peasant and women’s groups.
The agenda also includes a special appearance of the Cuban ambassador in Panama, Victor Cairo, on the situation in his country and the region, in addition to the work in commissions.
