Colombian government and peace signatories set up dialogue table

Bogotá, Feb 20 (Prensa Latina) A dialogue table between peace signatories and delegates of the National Government will be set up in the capital of Colombia with the objective of establishing agreements to respond to the requirements of the demobilized.

During the meeting, the interventions are expected to focus on the requests of the former guerillas related to their security, access to land and housing, as well as other issues associated with their social reintegration.

According to what the advisor to the Ministry of the Interior, Néstor Bruges, explained to RCN Radio, representatives of the organizations linked to the list of requests will also attend the meeting. “We managed to organize the issues, identify which ones are within the jurisdiction of the territorial entities and which ones are of the National Government,” he explained.

For his part, Gustavo Bocanegra, the spokesman for the signatories of the peace in the department of Tolima, in the center-west of the country, described the creation of the space for dialogue as important and hoped that it would flow so that the table would be successful.

Demobilized members of the extinct guerrilla group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP) blocked a highway in the center of the country yesterday to demand that the government speed up the implementation of the 2016 Peace Agreement.

The former guerrillas requested a meeting with government representatives in order to develop a plan for the resolution of their claims, especially those related to reincorporation and projects that allow them to reintegrate into society.
