Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun affirmed Beijing’s commitment to peace and recalled that China has promoted talks to resolve this issue.
“We are pleased to see all efforts dedicated to peace, including the consensus reached between Russia and the United States to advance in negotiations,” he stated.
He also expressed the hope that all parties concerned and the stakeholders join conveniently the dialogue.
The spokesperson underscored that China did not create and is not a direct party to the Ukrainian crisis, but it has not remained indifferent or used the situation for profit.
Guo also recalled that Beijing has proposed, from the beginning, to resolve the conflict through dialogue, and these proposals have guided diplomatic efforts such as the establishment of the “Friends of Peace” group along with countries of the Global South, including Brazil.
