The text, penned at the headquarters of the Cuban legislative body, will strengthen bilateral ties, based on the consolidation of working relations between the parliamentary committees and friendship groups.
“We ratify here, in the Simón Bolívar Hall of the beautiful Capitol of the Republic of Cuba, that the brotherly peoples of Cuba and Venezuela, the people of Fidel and the people of Hugo Chávez, will be united in battle and victory forever,” said Rodríguez, who is on an official visit to Havana.
Prior to signing of the document, the leaders held a fraternal meeting, during which they expressed their desire to strengthen and expand interparliamentary ties.
According to the Cuban Parliament on its website, Lazo and Rodríguez, accompanied by their respective delegations, toured the halls of the National Capitol, a national monument and the seat of the island’s legislative body.
