Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun referred to the meetings that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held with the leaders of France, Spain, and the EU in Munich last week.
According to the spokesperson, the rise of unilateralism, protectionism, and global instability, has generated a complex international environment.
“In this context, the international community yearns for peace and stability more than ever, hopes for a healthy and stable relationship between China and Europe, and trusts that both sides will become constructive forces in a changing world,” he affirmed.
Guo stressed that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two regions. The spokesperson noted that Beijing will work with Brussels to strengthen their strategic partnership, deepen communication and coordination, and jointly face global challenges.
