According to TSE member Tahuichi Tahuichi Quispe, the forum will seek to have the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) commit to passing a law guaranteeing the application of the principle of preclusion in general elections in order not to repeat the negative experience of the judicial elections of last December.
“Four fundamental themes will be addressed, one of which is preclusion, which should be ratified by an ALP law so that no one violates the principle of preclusion (…),” said Quispe, explaining to Unitel that no process can be reversed, revised, and much less declared void (the general election).
The meeting was convened to secure the general elections of August 17, where Bolivians will elect the president and vice president, 130 deputies, 36 senators and nine supranational representatives.
The electoral authorities invited the highest representatives of the Executive Branch, of the ALP, presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, of the legislative commissions and leaders of the current political organizations.
