According to media such as the Franceinfo channel, the former tennis player and Qatari businessman has been in court since February 5 for alleged complicity in the so-called Lagardère affair, which dates back to 2018.
A judicial source confirmed the prosecution for involvement in the purchase of votes and an attack on the freedom of voting, as well as abuse of power, charges that Al-Khelaifi categorically denied. The case centres on the accusation that Lagardère may have tried to change a key vote of the Qatari fund, a shareholder of his group, in his favour
According to the PSG president, who is not currently under judicial control, he had no influence on this matter.
For its part, the BFM TV channel, pointed out that following the indictment of Al-Khelaifi, Qatar threatened to withdraw its investments in France.
