DPRK meets 2024 goals of territorial development strategy

Pyongyang, Feb 13 (Prensa Latina) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) met the goals of territorial development strategy in 2024, outlined in the so-called 20x10 policy, the state news agency ACNC reported today.

In the first year of this revolutionary movement aimed at erasing the differences between urban and rural areas, modern factories and service centers were inaugurated in 20 districts and cities, mainly through the action of military contingents.

The work was conceived and is permanently inspected by the general secretary of the Workers’ Party and chairman of the State Affairs Committee, Kim Jong Un, ACNC noted.

So far in 2025, several such facilities have already been inaugurated and construction has begun on others, including a hospital on the outskirts of the capital and a huge greenhouse in Sinuiju, capital of North Phyongan Province.

The DPRK official agency also reported today that several manufacturing units were opened in Kim Hyong Jik County, Ryanggang Province, on Tuesday.

The 20×10 policy is to build high-efficiency factories in 20 counties over a period of 10 years, which will be completed in all 200 counties in the country.

The policy will take into account the geophysical conditions and location of cities and districts, infrastructure, population and other factors that will ensure the good performance of the plants, some of which will be dedicated to the production of foodstuffs and basic necessities.
