In the municipality of Diez de Octubre, the president went to the Specialized Automotive Services Company Motor Centro, the only one of its kind in the country that performs maintenance on light and heavy vehicles, which is made up of 11 base business units, six of them in Havana.
According to the Presidency on its X profile, the actions taken by its workers amid economic complexities have allowed them to recover parts and pieces that are used to repair vehicles.
The engines of most of the buses running in the capital were repaired in these workshops in 2023 and 2024, the source said.
The head of State also visited the steel processing mechanical company, which manufactures metal structures and repairs equipment from major domestic clients.
This center has been linked with the community, including schools, clinics and other important facilities that have been repaired.
Díaz-Canel also visited one of 13 homes for children without parental care that exist in Havana; this one specializes in children up to six years of age, where he was able to appreciate the living conditions of the children.
In the park of the community where the Home is located, the president met with residents to whom he explained the objective of the visits to the municipalities, and called on them to continue to look for alternatives to solve the difficulties, the Presidency noted.
In Centro Habana municipality, the president visited the General Freyre de Andrade Clinical Surgical Hospital, which is undergoing a comprehensive repair and maintenance process.
Díaz-Canel also toured the municipality of Old Havana, where the “Juan Ronda” Base Business Unit (UEB), attached to the Electric Power Plant Maintenance Company, is located.
There, he was informed about the main actions taken in its three workshops: motors, maintenance and transformers.
At the end of the tour, he visited one of the sites where the Turkish floating power plants are anchored in the Bay of Havana.
The two boats generate approximately 270 MW.
