Although the nation began developing green building plans later than other countries in the region, it achieved remarkable progress in this area as the number of projects rose considerably in recent years.

The initial aim in this direction was to have 80 environmentally friendly buildings by 2025 and 160 by 2030. However, last year alone, 163 buildings achieved green certification, doubling the figure reached in 2022.

In the opinion of specialists, the development of these projects contributes to Vietnam’s commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the construction sector by 74.3 million tons by 2030, to achieve zero emissions by 2050.
