The General Assembly of ACNU Associates denounced the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba by the administration of US President Donald Trump and the UN Security Council (UNSC)’s inability to stop Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian population.
During the report of the organization’s work in 2024, held in the Casa de las Americas cultural institution in this capital, it acknowledged the contribution made by collective and individual partners, movements, networks, and other social leaders with which it collaborates, and maintained its actions in 2024 in defense of the Revolution and the island’s foreign policy.
Its management’s results last year show that despite the multi-dimensional crisis affecting all countries, the ACNU successfully took actions in defense of human rights, against the US blockade, in favor of peace, international security, in defense of sovereignty and the peoples’ self-determination.
The organization assessed as positive the actions to fight terrorism, the fulfillment of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, the link with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international organizations based in Cuba, and the exchanges with representatives of other civil society organizations.
It also acknowledged the progress made in the dialogue with the European Union (EU), the holding of forums and workshops against racism and racial discrimination, its presence in social and digital media, and the consolidation of the November Model United Nations Conference, totaling 11 across the country.
Ana Silvia Rodriguez,
acting director general for Multilateral Affairs and International Law at the Foreign Ministry (MINREX), recognized this association’s contribution to Cuban foreign policy for its systematic denunciation of the effects of the US government’s blockade and Cuba’s inclusion in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list.
