This strengthening of ties could occur due to the tourism and heritage potential that each city has, Sreng noted when receiving Cuban Ambassador Milena Zaldívar Piedra.
In the cordial meeting at the headquarters of the Phnom Penh Municipality on Friday, the Cuban diplomat received from her interlocutor repeated shows of affection for the Caribbean island, due to the endearing solidarity characteristic of its fraternal relations with the Kingdom.
Zaldívar Piedra, in turn, considered Sreng’s proposal to be very positive, describing it as a symbol of friendship between the two countries, which this year celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
The Cuban ambassador confirmed to the senior leader her willingness to develop cooperation projects with a local impact between the cities in the identified areas of mutual interest and promote ties between the new generations of Cubans and Cambodians.
Both parties also discussed the countless displays of reciprocal support and initiatives for bilateral cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, which consolidate both governments’ shared will to continue to promote people-to-people relations and exchanges.
