The Caribbean nation’s ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco, wrote in his personal account on the social network X that this step reaffirms the enormous “potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in this sector”.

The governor of Shanxi province, Jin Xiangjun, underscored the importance of securing the key factors and support services necessary for this joint work in drug research and development and industrialization.

According to the Changzhi municipal government’s official website, the goal of the project is to promote significant breakthroughs in the production of antibody biopharmaceuticals in Shanxi.

“Changzhi City is focusing on areas such as electronic information, new energy, biomedicine and high-end equipment manufacturing, and is working to cultivate a multi-billion-yuan industrial park, as well as to build a provincial demonstration zone for comprehensive transformation and reform,” the official website adds.

Recently, Ambassador Blanco assured that China-Cuba ties in the biotechnology sector have been developing in a growing and satisfactory manner for 20 years.
