In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina during his stay in Panama, the essayist and political scientist, expert on Latin American and Caribbean issues, stressed that if there is a country that has been a victim of terrorism, it has been Cuba.
For Borón, terrorism means subjecting a nation to an integral blockade for more than 60 years, and it is also done by the country whose government in 1945 dropped the only two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, “the greatest terrorist attack in the history of mankind,” he said.
On the other hand, he recalled, Cuba has been the host and guarantor of all the negotiations that took place to advance the peace process in Colombia.
The inclusion on the list, he added, is meaningless and does affect the daily life of the people on the island.
According to the professor, the Cuban government has reacted with dignity to the new measures and pressures of the current administration of Donald Trump and his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
