Pan-African Movement condemns US measures against Cuba

Kampala, Feb 5 (Prensa Latina) A new Pan-African Movement (PAM) statement spread by the Ugandan Chapter denounces the tightening of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, local media reported in this capital on Thursday.

The denunciation, published on the UG Diplomat website and signed by Newton Balenzi, Coordinator of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, points out that the United States has increased its coercive measures by reinstating Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, which is designed to stifle the Cuban economy and destabilize its government.

The document also adds that the new US administration has reinstated the List of Restricted Entities with Cuba, which prohibits US nationals and companies from engaging in any transaction with Cuban institutions.

The note states that the inclusion of Orbit S.A., a Cuban remittance processing company, also seeks to paralyze the financial support that families receive from relatives abroad.

Eventually, the document underscores that the PAM, the Uganda-Cuba Solidarity Movement, and the Anti-Fascist Movement (Uganda Chapter) condemn this new aggression in the strongest terms.
