In the Sierra Maestra room, a multipurpose hall at the Meliá Santiago de Cuba Hotel, Marta Deus told Prensa Latina that the presence of more than 100 women in her conference is a good sign because they are dreaming and managing the information they need to make their dreams come true.
The businesswoman praised women’s qualities for communication, which facilitated the transmission of information among those present and at the same time is a potential for success in the business world.
Regarding women’s empowerment, she considered that there is still a lot of work to be done, “because Cuban women have to believe more in themselves, in all of their capabilities. There are many things that are done, but they are not structured, organized,” she explained.
Marta Deus stated that exchange forums like these make women say “I believe, I can do it,” and stressed the need to encourage them much more so that they can see in others how far they can go and have a reference.
She confirmed to Prensa Latina that she had spoken with Cuban entrepreneurs in Viñales, Pinar del Río; in Santa Clara, Villa Clara, in the Isla de la Juventud special municipality and in Holguín province.
